|Leeds & District Traction Engine Club|
The Leeds & District Traction Engine Club is open to anyone interested in the preservation and history of Traction Engines, steam road vehicles, fairground equipment and related subjects.
Social meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month between September and April at the Dewsbury Road Social Club, 393 Dewsbury Road, Leeds LS11 5LR. Meetings start 19.45 hrs for 20.00hrs and usually comprise a talk or film show on Traction Engines or associated equipment. Anyone is welcome to come and see what we have to offer. Benefits include: Social evenings; a regular newsletter 'News and Notes'; access to the club's extensive library containing many rare and out of print books, see the library list here: Library; the club's photographic collection containing many historic steam engine and fairground photographs including some Yorkshire Patent Steam Wagon Co. works photographs, see the photographic collection list here: Photographic Catalogue; admission to club events including free admission to the rally at Harewood House.
The library list and photographic catalogue are pdf files and a viewer such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or Foxit Reader will be required. Either of these programs can be downloaded free from the internet.
